The festival takes place at the Aberystwyth Arts Centre, on Aberystwyth University's Penglais Campus. On the beautiful coast of Mid-Wales, Aberystwyth is easily accessible by train, bus and car, and once you're here the venue is easily accessible by foot or by public transport, whether you're staying in town, on campus, or just out of town. Aberystwyth bus and train stations, and the taxi rank, are all adjacent to each other in the centre of town. On this page you'll find the essential travel information to find us, and you can also see more travel information and maps on the Aberystwyth University website.
Getting to Aberystwyth is a simple journey from Birmingham New Street or Birmingham International, via Shrewsbury. If you're travelling from elsewhere in the UK, we recommend taking the train if you can! Please note that the Aberystwyth service is currently operated by Arriva Trains Wales, but in October 2018 this will change to KeolisAmey. We'll do our best to keep you informed of any drastic changes to timetabling or services!
If you're travelling from elsewhere in Wales, travel by bus is often a much cheaper and more convenient option. You can find the most suitable service on the TrawsCymru website. Megabus also runs a service from London, via Cardiff, to Aberystwyth.
If you're coming to Aberystwyth with your own vehicle, we are situated on the A487 heading north out of the town. The Aberystwyth Arts Centre postcode is SY23 3DE. Please let us know if you might be able to offer other festival attendees transport to the festival (or around the town) and we'll do our best to connect you!
If you're staying in the town, the Arts Centre is situated around a 20-30 minute walk up Penglais Hill. If walking isn't preferred, there are regular bus services running from the town to stops on the university campus. We also recommend downloading the Traveline Cymru app, if you're staying in the town centre, in order to find bus services up to the Arts Centre (though please note search results will show all options, and might still involve some walking). There are also usually plentiful cheap taxis available from the town. If you're able to share transport, either public or your own, with other festival-goers once you're here, we strongly encourage it and will do our best to connect you!
We recommend using the Traveline Cymru widget, below, to take a look at transport options from within Wales.
