First announcements for 2016

While you patiently wait for news of 2016's exciting line-up (we're working hard on it!), we're very pleased to announce two returning guests for special events at this year's festival.

Renowned film composer Fabio Frizzi and his band return to Aberystwyth with a very special performance to celebrate the memory of horror master Lucio Fulci, who died 20 years ago. 35 years after creating perhaps his most acclaimed score for The Beyond, Fabio Frizzi will be retracing his steps in order to realize one of the boldest projects in his life: a composer's cut. A new score for a cult classic: expanded, revitalized and realized through decades of added proficiency and mastery. The Frizzi 2 Fulci band will be performing live on stage in front of a full screening of the film, bringing a modern prog-rock interpretation and a completely new way to experience one of Fulci's most beloved horror masterpieces!

When Michael Sabbaton performed his Lovecraftian one-man show, The Temple, at Abertoir 2014, he gained many life-long fans in our audience. It's with great pleasure, then, that we can say that Michael will be returning to the festival with another slice of H. P Lovecraft, with Polaris, based on one of his earliest works.

We're also pleased to announce that the short film lineup for 2016 has been announced!  Head on over to the 2016 menu and have a look what's in store!

Individual tickets for both of these special events are on sale now from the Aberystwyth Arts Centre website and box office. If you're coming to the festival, though, both events are included in the festival pass. Passes will go on sale soon, and we'll slowly start announcing more films and events - be sure to give us a 'like' on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for all the most up-to-date info! (And you can now follow us on Instagram too!)
