Criminal Fixer Cliff Van Aarle’s (Derryn Amoroso) unique psychological condition gives him an edge in the criminal underworld, but when he’s hired by two amateur drug dealers claiming they were attacked by ‘zombies,’ Van Aarle is dragged into a terrifying and bizarre mystery that will force him to relive the traumatic past he thought he’d escaped.
Pirie Martin has created one of those films that we can’t possibly prepare you for. Psychosis employs a claustrophobic aspect ratio, immersive use of sound, and filmmaking tricks to disorientate the audience. It’s hard to really classify this film as anything other than a smart piece of original genre filmmaking by someone who’s not afraid to break the mould.
