Recently, a dear friend and long-time regular of Abertoir, Chris King, sadly passed away.

Many of you will remember him for his regular spot in the front row of the cinema, his absolute enthusiasm for film, and, despite not necessarily being a strict ‘horror fan’, diving straight into absolutely any subgenre we as a festival could throw at him!

Chris has been a tremendous supporter of the Arts Centre over the years, not just for film but across all art forms: looking forward to joining us in the cinema for our opera screenings, or enjoying classical music performed live elsewhere in the venue.

Always encouraging of any engagement with the arts, Chris has been a great friend to many staff and regulars at the Arts Centre over the years. He leaves us with many happy memories and will be very sorely missed.
