A special 50th anniversary screening of Hammer’s wildly imaginative take on the classic story. Professor Jekyll, an earnest scientist, obsessively works day and night on a serum, haunted by the fear that one lifetime will not be enough to complete his research.

In a unique twist on the classic tale, he finds his potion doesn’t quite work as planned, creating an evil, female, alternative version of himself. Desperate to cover up his new found identity, he calls her his sister, but things take a turn for the worse when he realises that he needs female hormones…

Exploitative and transgressive, Dr Jekyll and Sister Hyde is a late classic in the Hammer cannon and we’re excited to bring it back to the big screen for its 50th anniversary year.

This film screening is part of the Hammer and Beyond book launch event.
