The time is 1979. Jimmy Bones is respected and loved as the neighbourhood protector. When he is betrayed and brutally murdered by a corrupt cop, Bones’ elegant brownstone becomes his tomb. Twenty-two years later, the neighbourhood has become a ghetto and his home a Gothic ruin. Four teens renovate it as an afterhours nightclub, unknowingly releasing Jimmy’s tortured spirit.
This turn of the century classic bears all the hallmarks of the era – early CGI, dubious club scenes, celebrity performances - but Bones also brings a clear love for blaxploitation horror and gives it a modern twist. With as much to say about a particular part of African American history as Blacula, we’re excited to bring Bones back to the big screen.
